Engine Shed.

from £10 / day · closing December 2026

Engine Shed is an incubator in Temple Meads, Bristol. It starts at £10 a day, or £150 a month for up to three named users. Tech founders who want business support, advisers and a lounge to work from by the day rather than a desk to sign for.

The city's front door for tech innovation, in Brunel's original terminus building inside Temple Meads station — a members' lounge, eighteen offices, five meeting rooms and a decade of Bristol's startup story. It is also in its last months: the building closes in December 2026 and the team moves on to run the Bristol Innovations Zone at the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus.

Engine Shed closes in December 2026. The team transitions to the Bristol Innovations Zone in the new Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus building, opening September 2026, reachable by a new entrance two minutes from Platform 15. No transition terms for existing members or office tenants are published — worth asking before you commit.

Best for

Tech founders who want business support, advisers and a lounge to work from by the day rather than a desk to sign for.

Not for

Anyone planning where to work next year. It closes in December 2026, and the successor space at Temple Quarter carries a WECA funding condition that occupants be connected to growing the regional deep tech economy — so it is not a like-for-like replacement for a general founder membership.
